Saint John the Beloved is a eucharistically centered Cathedral whose life is shaped by Scripture, the Baptismal Covenant and our engagement with the world about us. It is a community where all are welcome, trust is present, risks are taken, and where our gifts and graces enable us to be who God knows us to be.

It is in the movement of the Eucharist, taking, breaking, blessing and giving back, that we at Saint John's find our life.  These movements shape and inform our experience and encounter with God.  They transform our understandings of ourselves, each other and the whole of creation.

Situated in the Hillcrest district of San Diego, Saint John the Beloved capitalizes on the design of our six-sided worship space, as a symbol, to be as a body immersed in the life and flow of the greater community.

You will find in this community a deep passion for the interrelatedness of worship and engagement with the world, a hunger for spiritual practices that engage us with beauty and mystery, an understanding of stewardship as all that we do with all we have, and a passion to know and be known by God.

We invite you to browse through this site and hope that in it you will hear the welcome and invitation of this community and of God.
